Last week fishing was good Monday through Thursday. We landed 6-10 per day up to 9 pounds. There was a good mixture of wild fish and hatchery fish. The snow is starting to melt and the river has some color but it is still in good shape. 6 to 7 feet of visibility.
Friday and Saturday things got slow for me. We went down to 3-4 per day. The sun came out, blue bird weather and I think the river cooled and slowed the bite some. Hope we get back to hitting them hard next week. Plenty of fish in the river, just had a hard time getting them to bite. All of the bites on Friday and Saturday were early, before the runoff when I think the river cooled.
The best flies were jumbo johns, green hares ear #12, red copper john #12 and golden stone #10 or #12.
